I compose music for usage in films and also as a songwriter/vocalist. I have always enjoyed listening and creating music; however, most of my formal training experience in the performing arts has been in dance (since the age of 6). I have taken music lessons in clarinet, piano, guitar, and voice; but my favorite instruments are the piano and synthesizer. Currently I use both and Garageband to compose music. Music has always been an area that made the most sense to me when it came to understanding it and working with it. Creating music always came a very natural to me, so I see it as a God-given gift and what I am meant to be involved in and share. In addition, I enjoy learning other languages (German, French, and Italian), which allows me to enjoy more music from other nations. I hope to begin training in opera in the near future and grow from being a film composer (currently) to one who also makes films. I hope to not only participate in discussions here around composing, but also learn from other composers lessons and advice that is useful for enhancing one's skill in composing music.

I agree that composing music and being creative is a God-given gift.
My main keyboard is a 76 key Alesis Quadrasynth Plus Piano. In the past I used its piano patch, but now I use Acousticsamples' Pleyel Grand with Kontakt 4 as a player. I use Native Instruments' Vintage Organs for that gritty Hammond B3 sound(also through Kontakt). For creating my own custom electronic synth patches, I use a small Nord Modular Keyboard, and a Korg Z1. In 'Instamatic', I used a patch from a hardware module- a Roland M-OC1 which played back a sample of a group of fr Horns. All of the other instruments were real instruments- elec guitar, elec bass, sax(Chris Alpiar), drums(Seth Burkhart), and I added a little bit of djembe drum. I'd love to do a synth-heavy recording in the future.
