++ for Sam Adler's book, its the only study book that got the details - all of them. I still keep it next to my Digital Performer 6 manual under my studio desk (not in the book shelf!) for reference.

Sonata Form The sonata form is probably one of the most common forms in classical and romantic music. This form is commonly used in the first movement of sonatas, string quartets, symphonies and even concerts. It has three main sections: 1. Exposi…

I likd te piece too, Though it felt a bit thin, especially in the beginning. After the second repeat of the main theme the cello sounds as though there are two cello's. This works really good. You keep this up thoughout the rest of the piece. I must…

I think you're doing a fine job with this. It sounds very melancholy to me, so if that's what you're going for....great! Keep up the good work!

could you explain it a bit more?I'm not sute I understand it...

There is something about the way that this is realized/ recorded that makes all the parts difficult to hear. The minor section has potential, but it would have benefited from more varied strings IMO - those pizz are too much on the same beat each b…

starts in a major, modulates and ends in F#minor, and it introduces the environment of the rest of the symphony, which I haven't wrote yet. In fact, this could be understood in both ways, both "correct": Could it be telling a story, with a light start,…

I'll add here some description for anything I upload,so while you listen,be sure to read :)

La Petit Nocturne:
Something slow, recorded by me,thus the crappy sound, intented to be the first of a series of works,in the same atitude. While I know very little to none french, I chose to have a title like that because it sounded nicer, and reminds one of Chopin's famous Nocturnes (although his were WAY better than this :D ).In english it translates to "The little Night Piece" and it's Greek title is "Μικρο Νυχτερινό".

Nocturne in G minor:
Continuing the Nocturnes, here comes another one,a bit brighter I think, richer in modulations and themes. However, for the time beeing I submited a version played by finale-when I have time I'll record it myshelf. There is a ritenuto which shouldn't be there (sounds too much),and I am a bit sceptical about the end. Above,I talked about a "series of works".Well,I think I made my mind,It'll be a series of Nocturnes and maybe a fantasy or two, time will tell.

Drop the article ("La"), and keep the male gender: "Petit Nocturne"

Nice work. Probably too Chopinian for me. I'll wait for some Beethovenian to comment more :-)

Nice piece. The sound has that typical home recording sound to it ... but for this piece, it works very well, I think. It's as if someone discovered an old recording of unpublished work by one of the great piano composers. Just my thoughts ... not exactly a professionally trained ear, here, though.
