I am only a baby composer at this stage. Nothing I have written/recorded has been officially published as yet, mainly as I am not confident that they are polished enough (and a couple are still in progress). They are short works (some notated, some just recordings, of up to around 6 minutes) for orchestra; or violin and piano; or electronic. I am looking to incorporate both into my compositions once I am proficient with my tools.
Thanks to your forum, I have picked up a few handy tips for me to try out.
My background... I was a full-time piano tutor in my past life, and am looking to transition into a composer as I become more confident sharing knowledge and experiences with my peers. I am not unskilled musically, just a little tentative about taking my first steps into the world of composing. I am starting out with simple spa-type music while learning how to best use the tools of the trade. I am not as computer savvy as I'd like to be, but I don't expect it will be too long before I get the hang of it when I'm collaborating/sharing with other musicians.
I thought you'd like to know that it was Gav Brown's proposed competition that caught my attention... ie only needing one more expression of interest for it to go ahead... so I thought I'd put my hand up to help it get moving (as the 10th expression of interest). As for me... I'll have a deadline where I have to publish a composition, regardless of how many more tweaks I could do to it before it's finished?! Hopefully, I can contribute to this forum with good music as well.
So, I hope this is enough info for me to be accepted in time to express my interest by tomorrow's deadline :0
