For anybody who knows the harp well? Are these lines playable of a harp? (Ignore the bar numbers. They don't apply here. Also, I don't know how to designate a repeated line like this)In case you're…Continue
"Dave, thank you for listening. the section at about 4:35 comes from a motif passed around between instuments and morphed at 1:30. The piece is intended to be in the spirit of deems Taylor's Through The Looking Glass.
I submitted an example of…"
"Good point, Bob. In most cases, the musicians are going to follow the body language of the conductor. How much the composer wants to micromanage the musicians' interpretation is largely up to the composer. I've played from music that…"
"Obviously directed toward me, H.S. I'm pretty sure that the intent of my music is made quite clear in my audible renditions. Translating that to paper is a skill that is, at this point, beyond me. I don't recall complaining that nobody…"
"Not at all. I don't think you got what I'm saying. As I recall, I don't think you have ever mentioned things like "what was the idea behind that cello solo at bar 2:57?" or "the rhythms in that passage at 4:23 seemed…"
"Mike, I would disagree. This competition is about how the music can be be well-presented. Not about the music itself. the best presentation would be by live performers, whether in a completely dead room or in a cathedral."
"Well, ouch, Dave. Almost every piece I've submitted for discussion has either quickly devolved into criticism of my samples, or received no response at all. And I must say, Dave, you have been one of the chief abusers. You need to understand…"

"I can offer this: My laptop is the last model made with a mechanical hard drive. it had been devloping a lot of glitches. I figured that the drive was coming to the end of its life and if it failed, I would lose everything. So I had the drive…"
"No big deal, Mike. as we discussed elsewhere, I'm likely to finish this in a month or so. I'm not likely to want to wait until the contest closes to get it posted at Soundcloud. since I am a DAW composer, I have already heard a rendition…"

About Me (Must include biographical information about you as a composer):
It's been a life-long dream drive to create music. Been in bands, played in orchestras and listened to it all. I've always wanted to compose, but didn't think I could do it until I got serious about working with DAWs. I guess the DAW is my instrument now.
