I first met Richard as a young violinist in country NSW in the 90s. The orchestra had assembled early one school holiday morning for an intensive one-day workshop, and I had the awkward role of leading and playing two violins (not at once!) in Camille Saint-Saëns' Dans...

COOKBOOK
Amy is a violist, performer, composer and music educator from Australia who writes, performs and teaches internationally.

Amy commenced her music studies on violin at the age of four with John Gould (London Symphony Orchestra) and Lorraine Moxey (Australian Brandenburg Orchestra), and went on to study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with esteemed violist Roger Benedict (principal viola Sydney Symphony Orchestra & London Philharmonic), and overseas with David Takeno (UK), Timothy Boulton and Tobias Lea (Vienna Philharmonic). During these formative years, Amy studied composition with Mathew Hindson & Anne Boyd, and musicologist Nicholas Routley.

As an artist, Amy has performed as a soloist both in Australia and the UK, and presented at the prestigious International Musician's Seminar, Prussia Cove, UK. She has toured North America, Asia and the Oceania region as a chamber musician, and is a current member of the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra based in Spain. Amy has also worked for the Sydney Sinfonia and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, New Zealand.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Amy has been recorded on ABC Classic FM and 2MBS FM, and internationally as part of the Australian Youth Orchestra's 2007 European Tour to France, Germany and the Netherlands. Amy is featured on Cairns Festival's Opening Notes album of 2011/2012, and released a debut chamber music album with Quartet Australis in 2010, 'Live at the Convent'.

Amy has now begun developing her own, unique sound, by integrating technology with live acoustic sound to create new and unusual musical gestures that are, at their core, beautiful to the human ear. Through her studies with the Berklee College of Music, Amy is developing this sound for the new frontier of music for screen in the 21st century.
