'Sirens' Song' (a non-atonal piano piece)

Hey gang, I posted this at the tip end of the previous incarnation of this site. A few here may have heard it. It is in a Rondo form, loosely. There is a tinge of 'modern' I suppose, but in the end it succumbs to a variant of rocknroll :) just for fun.

Its target audience is ??? Perhaps you can tell me smile

Your impressions are appreciated!

  • Wow, very interesting! The recurring theme sounds rather classical, with just little hints of bursting at the seams, and then that 1st episode gradually lets loose completely in virtuosic fireworks. Impressive! And just as we're about to forget what we started with, the main theme returns, with its classical clothing ever so fragile and about to fall into shreds, with the whole piece ending on an ambiguous note between the classical and the modern. Truly enigmatic yet impressive at the same time.
    • Thanks for taking a listen and offering your thoughts! Im glad it held your attention! This piece is on the longer side of my usual. I appreciate your characterization very much!
  • I also found the music in this relatively short span unusually varied and emotionally diverse -- hadn't expected this after the fairly conventional opening. Look forward to hearing more from you.
    • Thanks David! I wanted to start this off kind of 'plain' and then see where I could take it without breaking the 'line' - which allowed me to push against the 'expected' somewhat. Thank you for mentioning that, and for listening!
