  • I probably listened to it at least twice, considering moments to rewind and reflect. I admire your ability to maintain forward momentum, although you might consider transitional passages instead of full stops between those very compelling sections.

Speaking of which, I found the syncope in the second (or perhaps third, depending on your interpretation of symphonic form) movement frankly baffling. That's not a negative criticism, mind you, as it was clearly well written. Sometimes, when I detect a true method behind the product, I actually enjoy being baffled. It is a rhythmically strange, yet enjoyable, passage.

A particularly enjoyable and well executed modulation occurs at around 4:30. I left deserved praise on your Soundcloud file.

    • Thanks Kristofer for your kind comments. Much appreciated!
      • No, thank you. Commentary takes moments, minutes, or hours - tops. Genuine composing takes hours, days ,weeks, or months of anguishing toil.. Commentary can be fickle, even irresponsible at times, but composing is genuinely hard work (at least for me it is). I know, I've tried it a few times myself. The gratitude should go to the composer for work well done, critics be damned,, in my opinion.

Keep posting, Saul. I'm looking forward to it.
