Tisha B'Av or The ninth of Av is an annual fast day in Judaism. A commemoration of a number of disasters in Jewish history, primarily the destruction of both King Solomon's Temple by the Babylonian Empire and the Second Temple by the Roman Empire in the Jewish city of Jerusalem.
This day is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar.
But Jews believe that a time will come that this day will become a joyous holiday. This is based on a verse from Zachariah:
"Thus said GOD of Hosts: The fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth month, the fast of the seventh month, and the fast of the tenth month shall become occasions for joy and gladness, happy festivals for the House of Judah; but you must love honesty and integrity". (Zachariah 8-19).
