    • Thanks Jon, glad you liked it.

Yes the piece is somewhat Chopinesque, but that was not my intention. I have no problem with it, as long as it is a genuine reflection of my art. About the trills, well I try to incorporate some trills when I compose in classical/romantic style, I think they add a positive feel to the piece. It's interesting that you referred to the two registers as a dialogue, I agree with that. I always believed that music is like a story and just like any story with characters, there is always a dialog.

      Thanks for listening,

  • I've found your Caprices to be among the most inventive and enjoyable of your works with enough surprises, particularly harmonically, to keep you guessing. Just one point though -- have you never considered varying the bass line a bit more? Most of the time it's a constant 6/8 steady quavers (or however it's written). For instance even swapping the melody to the bass ever now and then might make a difference. It doesn't actually annoy the way you've done things but it's perhaps something for consideration.

    • Thanks David, glad you liked the music. Yes, about the baseline, you are correct that more can be done to add color and interest, good point.

Will see what I can do for future works.
