Yes the piece is somewhat Chopinesque, but that was not my intention. I have no problem with it, as long as it is a genuine reflection of my art. About the trills, well I try to incorporate some trills when I compose in classical/romantic style, I think they add a positive feel to the piece. It's interesting that you referred to the two registers as a dialogue, I agree with that. I always believed that music is like a story and just like any story with characters, there is always a dialog.
I've found your Caprices to be among the most inventive and enjoyable of your works with enough surprises, particularly harmonically, to keep you guessing. Just one point though -- have you never considered varying the bass line a bit more? Most of the time it's a constant 6/8 steady quavers (or however it's written). For instance even swapping the melody to the bass ever now and then might make a difference. It doesn't actually annoy the way you've done things but it's perhaps something for consideration.

Thanks David, glad you liked the music. Yes, about the baseline, you are correct that more can be done to add color and interest, good point.
Will see what I can do for future works.
