I'm looking to find out areas to focus on to improve. But do be kind - you might want to also point out, for balance, some things that don't give away that it's by a beginner (with hardly any music theory or ability to read music).

The thing which most immediately struck me here is the agitated passage from around 3'30" which is very evocative with its stabbing chords although fairly soon, I started to look for variants of this theme to be repeated in other instruments. The slow section following this is quite touching - you certainly have some sort of melodic gift, although the harmony seems a bit unvarying. Your melody nearly always seems to be in the same instrument (presumably first violin) and I do rather miss more counterpoint which you said you were trying to move away from this time round -- possibly you shouldn't? Perhaps it would also be worth a few words on the structure as I'm not sure I can entirely follow it.
Considering you only stated composing a few weeks ago, there's a good deal of promise there, I think.
