Mike; thank you so much for your comment re my Sonatina - that means a lot considering what an accomplished writer you are (looked at your site) - I wrote it to relax a bit after battling through the wind quintet, and used an easy language based around 1 motif. I can't help sounding a bit English although a 'starting block' inspiration for each movement was based on pieces I was teaching the dedicatee; Haydn/Debussy/CPE Bach. Will listen to your clarinet concerto and partita in depth - they sound great, and to my ear capture that language that sits easily with a tonality but is not burdened by it - love Judith Weir for that!
