"Hi Dane, great comment as always, thank you for the helpful reference to Andriessen and Hoketus. Yes I agree, the time difference between horn and cello is very significant. It is certainly nothing you can listen to all the time. But monotonous it…"

Jan-Frederik Carl replied to Nigel Campbell's discussion New Piano piece - Should I add strings?
"Hello Nigel, you say it yourself: "I really like the emptiness of just the piano" - I think with strings, the piece would sound very different, most importantly, the emptiness would go away. There is probably no good or bad about this, it…"

Constellation 2 (For Ensemble)

Hi,this is a very minimalistic piece that I would like to share. It is quite long so you need some stamina for listening. The idea is to produce a "constellation" of single sounds and to explore their relationships in time. Everything else (like motifs etc.) is omitted. Here is the link:https://musescore.com/user/32556702/scores/6290735See More

I am a (relativley fresh) hobby composer and work on contempary music as well as pop songs, mostly for piano.

Although I have been interested in composition for a very long time, only recently I decided to really go for it and to finally subordinate my other big love, literature, to it ;)

I am regularly practicing the piano and have taken violin lessons as well as attending a choir for several years.
