Hi Larry, you put a kind comment on my wall about one of my pieces. Thank you for that. I am sorry that it has taken so long to write back, illness and not looking at the sight for a long time. I like your music as well. I still think that there is a lot left for tonal music. All the best. Jim
I thought I responded to you a long time ago but now I don't see my response anywhere. So, I will do it again. Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my work. Hopefully I'll be posting more real soon! Please feel free to catch me anytime I'm on the forum. I love talking about music and anything else for that matter.
Thanks, Larry, and apologies it has taken me some time to listen to your music. I detect a certain filmic [if that's a word!] quality to your pieces! Do they fit together somehow? They're musically in a similar vein and the titles imply a journey in retrospect "A Better Place... Been There... Return"
Thank you, Larry. The point I was trying to make was about the virtues of DAW point-and-click composing. I could never have made these pieces with an external input device. I think that Serenity has a gift, and that MIDI would help her to realize that gift. That was the purpose of the comment.
It was just a bit of fun but now I, in turn feel inspired by your positive comment and realise I should upload and share more. I'm in the thick of piano practise mode at the moment. It's relentless daily, challenges that suddenly cause me to make new connections about my own work, or work I should or could do next. Thanks again for visiting and listening. I really should share more, it's so nice to get any kind of feedback! appreciated. All the best, Chris
I see you've been sampling a lot of people's music, and I appreciate that -- and that you found some unique features in my work. We're not far apart in age, and maybe not too far apart in wide musical interests. I hope composing on computer (as I do) is more and more satisfying to you.
Thank you Larry for your kind words and listening for some of my music! I can see you enjoy different styles, like me. Enjoying classical and rock too!
Hi Larry,
Thanks for your positive comment!
I mainly write for my own amusement (primarily jazz) but The Desert I wrote for a composition contest in Santa Fe, NM where I live.
Yours truly,
Doug Frantz

I guess I did respond after all, eh?

I think you'd like "Sinking Leaf," as well, Larry. Starts out a bit avant garde, but then goes into a prelude type thingy. =)

Hello Larry! Thank you for your feedback.
Hi Larry,
Many thanks for your kind words!
The violin is one of the first pieces I wrote that was performed live.
All the best!
