I'm at somewhat of a loose end it seems. I have finished my symphonic poem: "Son Coeur Est Un Luth Suspendu" based on the short story, The Fall of The House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe. So now I'm looking around at my notebooks and the such like wondering where to go from here... I have two movements of a suite written and some other bits and pieces (most of a prelude for a string quarter, but I don't much like it). I know in my heart that I should really put composition on hold and focus on my upcoming exams... I think I'll do some music theory exercises first though... They keep my mind sharp and keep me thinking about writing.
An advice, have always a notebook around for any ideas that came up when you never expect. I usually have one when i don't write music for a period of time.
