New song, "Tidal Wave"

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site and its awesome to be a part of it.

I'm a pretty novice composer, I have been a musician for the past 11 years but have more recently gotten better at digitally composing music with DAW software. I mess around with anything from movie soundtrack-esque tracks to some hip-hop style beats and even some upbeat electronic songs.

I'd love for anyone to check out the latest track I uploaded and give me some honest feedback.

I made this track called Tidal Wave, hope you enjoy!

  • Mood well done. Felt all swirling moisture. Was waiting for a sudden crash after the silence - but who am I to be critical. Did you import wave sounds - or is all this synthesized?

  • Thanks for checking it out, glad you liked it.

I really appreciate the advice, it does help! I'll definitely go back and use what you said to make the track stronger.

    Thanks again!

  • The track puts me in london in the movie Sweeney Todd. Great Track!

For feedback I suggest the following: the sfx that bounces back and fourth in the stereo field should be turned down to a point to where it sounds, "mischievous". Put the gong like sound either hard left or right and take out some resonance or reverb. Turn down the strings and pan them to both sides much more than you have now, to give way to the piano.

Hope this helps. I am giving the advice to give the entire track more character and a bit more dynamics. Cheers!
