The Guild of Northern Media Composers was set up in late 2009 to celebrate the work and raise the profile of media composers working in the north of England. The guild hosts meetings and events of interest to media composers, makes members music available to media companies to license through its web site, has a collaboration board for members to swap services and is a forum for exchanging ideas and information. The guild receives support from Generator, Northern Film and Media and Business Link.
The current roster of composers contains numerous award winners. Members have had major label record contracts with the likes of CBS, Universal and Sony BMG. In the past members music has been used on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, E4, Sky, MTV, Virgin, Film 4, EA Games, Radio1, Radio 2, Radio 6 Music as well as numerous TV ads, feature films and shorts.
The guild is currently looking to expand its membership base. If you are interested in the field of music for media and licensing your tracks for use in TV, film, advertising and computer games you can find out more information by visiting the web site at www.northernmediacomposers.co.uk
