Music Composers Unite!

Who is this "Yep'?  I don't know, but he has posted over at the Reaper forum. I'm almost finished reading the entire 'article'. It's about mixing and based on his familiarity with the various techniques. This article is way up there with the great books by Katz and others. I really recommend it. It's an easy read and will encourage you to consider the beginning of the signal chain, such as your guitar and guitar amplifier settings. He shows us how to prioritize during the recording and mixing process. It's a wonderful 'book'.

I know what you mean. For me, it's becoming clearer that I need to further develop my listening abilities and become a better guitarist, bass, and keyboard player. The recording always starts at the source. What happens there is even more important than the rest of the signal chain.
