"Thanks Jos - yes - the kit is intentionally panned for the toms to be wide - and quite funny that I actually think the kick level is too loud! I really appreciate your listen and feedback - happy you enjoyed it."

"Hi Tony, Congrats with that fantastic piece. Well done in every aspect. One small detail (I can be mistaken): I hear the drums in different directions (mainly the toms). Perhaps your stereo settings for the drums are too wide. The kick drum is then…"

Tolo - "The Quiet Man"

Good evening to you all across the world - I hope this finds you all peaceful and well. Please find my latest track for your review - I think this is a little different from my other material. This song - for many reasons - was written for someone very special to me - going through some unchartered waters at a late stage in their lives. It is meant to be an honest, complex, gentle, humble piece - just like the brilliant person themselves. There is a story in here like all the rest - so please…See More

Tolo - "This Life"

Happy New Year everyone - I hope your worlds are all at peace today - a fresh page. Please find my latest track - 'This Life' - it is all about the seconds that make up our lives and how we can become oblivious to the fact that the clock is always running - despite our best attempts to deceive ourselves. This has been a difficult year for us all - and I only hope we can learn to appreciate what those seconds bring us - love, fear, beauty, loss, amazement, happiness, loneliness - the list goes…See More

"Hi Tony, It's a pretty power-pop tune, well produced. The only critique I would offer is that it sounds similar to other things I have heard in this genre. Thanks for sharing! Gav"

Tolo - "Dreamchaser"

Good evening from a nicely warming up Johannesburg... So back to the guitar. This is a tune I wrote and recorded about my personal journey that led me to South Africa - not an easy one at times, but mostly full of love, courage and ultimately - at the end as we stand today - triumph. Again - as in 'Yellow Rose' - please live the passages and stories that lead to the final reveal. Thanks in advance - feedback always appreciated - of any kind.Stay wellTony…See More

"Very enjoyable Joost - I love the quirky vibe and the almost schizophrenic bass. Expertly played too - with a really lovely, bright piano. For me it could almost have opened up at the end, by letting it roll a little more - kind of like the…"

I write, record and produce my own original instrumental music - from my studio here in Johannesburg. Originally from England - I have lived in South Africa for the last 7 years. A self taught guitarist first - I am finding that my work is becoming more and more heavily scored, complex and orchestral - but still with a significant element of guitar based melodies, textures and tones. I also love to mix more contemporary synthesizer sounds and pulses into the work - something that is evolving with each piece of writing. I am still looking for a break in writing something for a movie - something I would really love to do...
