Timothy Smith replied to Ali Riza SARAL's discussion Has anybody used Sonatina Symphony Orchestra with Cakewalk?
" You may also want to try another free orchestra that possibly has an added advantage. PROJECT SAM I haven't tried that orchestra but it's free and you would have nothing to loose. The added advantage to it is a Kontakt Player…"

Timothy Smith replied to Ali Riza SARAL's discussion Has anybody used Sonatina Symphony Orchestra with Cakewalk?
"Nice Ali. There are usually several ways to do things in Cakewalk. The method you used is global. The second way only changes the project. If all tracks are to be changed, then on a PC CTRL+A selects all tracks or each one can be individually…"

Timothy Smith replied to Gabriele's discussion "Entanglements", for Cello Solo
" I think you should be proud of this! The arrangement sounds easily like something a real set of musicians could play. The technical aspects of the music convey more than the sum of the parts skillfully in a way that enriches the soul. …"

"Thank you Ali for comments and I appreciate those who comment that have entirely different background and may have no association with this type of music or serious interest.  I like the idea to bring the music out more and sacrifice the vocals…"

Ali Riza SARAL replied to Timothy Smith's discussion You Are My All In All
"Hi Tim, Excellent. I am not brought up as Christian but still I find your music soothing and consoling. The level of prosody is noteworthy... Of course an other approach to prosody could be to sacrifice words partially in favor of the music…"

Timothy Smith replied to Ali Riza SARAL's discussion Has anybody used Sonatina Symphony Orchestra with Cakewalk?
"Glad to see that you are making progress. To get midi into Cakewalk from MuseSCORE I  export the files as midi from MuseSCORE onto my desktop. I then drag and drop the midi file into Cakewalk which should open the file up unless it is in some…"

"There is both good news here and maybe not so good news all depending. If you are Mac user many of these appear to offer the EXS format. The other main format is Kontakt sample player, though as I understand it Ableton has a sampler and might be…"

Timothy Smith replied to Timothy Smith's discussion Great Mid Level Composition Libraries For The Budding Composer
"Thanks for comments Dane. It certainly pays to err on the side of caution. I think you have a pretty good tool kit to work with.  Pianoteq id a hard one to best, although I really like Embertone's new piano called the Walker 1955 Concert…"

Timothy Smith replied to Ali Riza SARAL's discussion Has anybody used Sonatina Symphony Orchestra with Cakewalk?
"I second Komplete free as a nice way to get started. If you look around on the web many sample and adventurous programmers offer free versions such as Project Sam. As Michael says, there are free and low cost sounds out there that are pretty…"

Timothy Smith replied to Moueen Issa's discussion Incomplete piano prelude
" I think this is slightly fast if you expect the orchestra to follow a motif based on it. The prelude puts a lot of energy right at the beginning which I think would be ok if you were anticipating this to be a highly charged piece all the way…"

I have been involved in music for most of my life. I would consider myself a hobbyist composer. I play guitar, piano, bouzouki, harmonica, and am an aspiring violinist. I am a worship leader/pianist at my local church. My website online mainly deals with different themes and instruments.
