Timothy Smith replied to David Carovillano's discussion Improving the Finale version using a DAW
"Dave, I hope I didn't imply in my response that you were looking to recruit players. I think I just wanted to see if the average violinist would have an interest in it. I will admit, some of this was for my own knowledge in making new material…"

Timothy Smith replied to michael diemer's discussion Vienna Enemle Pro & Epic Orchestra?
"Good luck finding an answer on that Micheal. There are lots of guys on the VI forum with multiple libraries who would probably comment on that. I'm not familiar enough with these to make an educated comment. It is getting so that they are all…"

Timothy Smith replied to Kyle Benjamin Ross's discussion Ode to Hersheypark
"Hi Kyle,  Nice to meet you here. I liked this and overall it is a pleasant listen in keeping with a park/fun theme. Do you live in Hershey?  The only thing that seemed to contrast beyond the theme to my ears was the part that starts…"

Timothy Smith replied to David Carovillano's discussion Improving the Finale version using a DAW
"Dave I enjoyed the first 4 minutes or so of this. Didn't have the time to continue right away but plan to do so. It would be nice if the player on your site had a way to fast forward through passages already heard. If it has this function, I…"

Timothy Smith replied to David Carovillano's discussion Vesuvius for Violin and Piano
"Dave, Just another opinion here, but I believe it comes down to trust and expertise when writing for real players. I try to imagine being handed a piece by a composer who doesn't understand my instrument at least at an educated superficial…"

Timothy Smith replied to David Carovillano's discussion Vesuvius for Violin and Piano
"Dave, I have done similar when it came to acceptance. I remember when I was in a band and we didn't want anyone over 30 in it. I refused good talent because of that. Now that I'm well past 30 I feel guilty for having been that guy. Many…"

Timothy Smith replied to David Carovillano's discussion Vesuvius for Violin and Piano
"Dave I much enjoyed your work here. As both an instrumentalist and a composer like yourself, I see both sides of it. I think it is extremely easy to compose works that are too complicated for the average or even some pro players without a lot of…"

Timothy Smith replied to michael diemer's discussion In The Garden
"This is very nice music and I enjoyed the journey through all of the various moods presented. It sounds like the harp is panned hard left. I might move some of it over to the right. Just me. I say this because in a real setting you will hear the…"

Dane Aubrun replied to Timothy Smith's discussion The Mystery

I have been involved in music for most of my life although I don't make a living at music. I would consider myself a hobbyist composer. I don't attempt to market any of my music, although I have released a guitar CD. I play guitar, piano, bouzouki, harmonica, and am an aspiring violinist. I am a worship leader/pianist at my local church. My website online mainly deals with world and Celtic music styles.
