Plato's famous Cave Allegory comes to mind when I meet some folks who simply have no interest in music. You begin speaking about Chopin, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Bach, Vivaldi and their faces cringe as…Continue

"I have added the flute to the piece, I think it worked out pretty well, maybe even better then the solo version. Best Wishes,"

"I guess it depends on your definition of composing. I do one-take live recordings, but I don't call those compositions. Maybe  "planned improvisations". Thanks for clarifying. "

"It was composed in one sitting, totally unrehearsed, pretty spontaneously. I think you need to give a piece a few more listens to really appreciate it. Some pieces require some time to really get the unity of the piece as you mentioned. Glad you…"

"Is this composed or improvised? The opening sounds lovely. Further into the piece there are good passages too, but I'm not seeing what the unity of it is. There are lots of great motifs, but they are similar, so I have a hard time sustaining…"

Hi Saul,

My usual email address is having problems that can't be resolved until the morning. I've just about finished orchestrating/arranging your work and would like to forward it to you. I will attach the PDF to this message. The youtube video is here: https://youtu.be/kONuoV6kT_Q

I have stuck as closely as possible to your original - any changes I have made are to facilitate easier performance (players must breath and rest their fingers now and again) and, where I think it suitable, to make it slightly more musical. Having said that I want to say that I like the music very much indeed - the more time I've spent on it the more I like it.

Clearly, any changes I have made which are not to your liking you can just let me know and I will alter them (unless you want to do that yourself of course).

I hope you are in agreement with what I've done - as I said, there's no charge - but if you publish it please ensure I'm shown as the arranger.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
