"Hi Hugh, I use Finale and have done so for about 10+ years. Before NotePerformer, its sound output was somewhat weak, but it is now much better with NotePerformer. Before NP became available last year for Finale, it only worked with Sibelius, so I…"

Daws, Sound Libraries and Music Notation

I currently mostly use Sibelius notation software. For creating demos, these samples are not great. You can get plugins, but this is limited. What is a more effective/efficient way of creating demos? So far the most promising thing I've found is Dorico, though I don't know much about that yet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKaqprDhslUPerhaps there can be some compatibility between Cubase and a more sophisticated notation system. Please…See More

"Thanks Ingo, My mistake. I believe there is however a new notation program that may be viable though I haven't checked it out. Its called Dorico. It seems quite promising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKaqprDhslU"

I love writing music, but even more I love listening and learning music from other composers. I have been playing and listening to high level Wind Ensemble music, much of which is transcribed from Orchestra. Having written a number of works for Wind Ensemble and arranged for orchestra, as well as a prolific repertoire of Big Band music, I now want to focus more on writing orchestral music as a more diverse and creative medium though am concerned with the viability of opportunities and am researching electronic sound libraries as well.
