- I attended the Jazz studies program at North Texas State University in the 80's. I am 59 and I used to be a full time working musician. I stopped playing (practicing) about 12 years ago and then started practicing again about 5 or 6 years ago. I do not work any longer as a gigging musician.
I have only written about 20 pieces and pretty much have taught myself composition. Much of my knowledge of notation has come from a lot of transcribing. In addition to my own pieces I do arrangemnets of Jazz standards. All of the above is in the realm of solo Jazz piano. I created my own website but at this time it does not have any music posted as I recently acquired some good recording equipment and am in the process of learning how to use it just for recording a grand piano. I would like to be able to post some of my original pieces, my arrangements of some Jazz standards and be able to ask questions about notation.

I visted your website and found your excellent work.
In the past few years, I have become best of friends with a good jazz pianist, who plays constantly - whenever there is a board with keys on it. He is talented, like you are. I know how hard it is to accomplish what you do, because I looked into it myself (via John Mehegan's books).
