Dane Aubrun replied to roger stancill's discussion The Heart of Music and Frequencies

The second “broad discussion” I've tumbeld on in a couple of weeks!
The video presents another set of views about the effects of sound organised as what’s loosely called music or plain unpitched rhythm – or a mix of both on the human organism. I…"

Javier Medina replied to roger stancill's discussion The Heart of Music and Frequencies
"It's interesting how the frequencies can create those images and forms, If music can do all that stuff physically imagine what it does in the immaterial territories, to me that's even more interesting, we know that music can hit hard and even change…"

roger stancill replied to Saul Gefen's discussion Concerto for Strings In G minor
"Hi Saul, this is very good over all. My sense though, that you as a younger composer, are cramming too much into one piece of work. The 2nd 'movement' was extraordinary, but the pace of it (actually both) seem to defy the reality of human experience…"

roger stancill commented on Suzanne Munro's video
"Hi Suzanne, this is short but enchanting. If I may make a suggestion... take 2-3 bars you have towards the end of this and use them as an intro/lead in, and then slightly slow this down, more like a peaceful slow and delicate snowfall. Just a…"

roger stancill replied to Gavin Brown's discussion Should Composers’ Forum Continue in 2020/21?
"Gav, 150 members pitching in a mere $4 a year pays the fee. With 200 members contributing $3 a year...that's andless than 1 cent per day, the challenge is met. The profit margin on the mugs and T- shirts should easily cover the bulk of the burden. …"

roger stancill replied to Sassyfrood's discussion Piano Sonata in G Minor
"This piece has a brisk pace and is full of interesting passages and phrasing. I like it. It has diversity and dimension. As an opus created by young hands, it shows potential. When composing,(and I am not an expert) always consider the ear of your…"

roger stancill replied to Saul Gefen's discussion Against All Odds
"Hi Saul, I'm sure you are looking for some feedback. Hey it's the Holiday season and folks are busy.
I listened to this, and for what it's worth, here is my amateur 2 cents. lol    To me and my ear, this being a 'mood'
piece, it has to have both a…"

roger stancill replied to Kjell Prytz's discussion Romantica
"K P, the inherent potential of a piece of work and it's 'strength' is often limited by our software. To listen, and hear beyond that 'limit' is a witness to that potential. Though the 'computer' strings may sound a bit muddied, they still hold there…"

roger stancill replied to Kjell Prytz's discussion Romantica
"Kjell, very nice. Beautifully done. If you ever decide to 'kick this up a notch', add an organ. For some reason, in the back of my head, I heard the 'silent' strains and dynamics of a pipe organ. eh, just a passing thought. Thanks for sharing this.…"

roger stancill replied to Bob Porter's discussion New piece
"Bob, Hi there....long time ay.  I know exactly what you mean when you state, having to write it so it will play as you intend it to sound. That is not always easy. I liked this piece. It was suspenseful, and entertaining. It did seem to tell a…"

roger stancill replied to Kjell Prytz's discussion Kyrie Eleison
"Hey there Kjell, all in all I enjoyed this. A point or 2 for your consideration though. I thought that the base
horns played to much of a role and 'muddied' the flow of this... and, I was listening for a 'bravado moment' from Mother Nature as a…"

  • Sorry I didn't answer the friend request long ago.

My interface is quite messed up, so I don't even go to "my page" at hardly.

My Composers forum email does not work at all, at least for SENDING messages.

I can receive, but not send.

Please let me know if you get this.
