"Nice piece, well structured although being an improvisation. It feels like a long crescendo, like Bolero. Much appreciated.

"Great rhythmic drive and melodic content here Matthew and nice counterpoint as well, I enjoyed this!  Also good use of dynamics, the precision makes me think this is virtual, may I ask what library you are using?"

"Hi Matthew,
I liked the dinamism, perpetum mobile, and the ending.
The brass writing is skillful.  I have to note this as a reminder for myself.
Thank you very much for sharing the score.
I appreciate your sharing this work.

"Accomplished. Energetic, surging forward and a very good, climatic ending.
It would make a great 'prelude' to a brass concert."

"Nice to meet you here Matthew.
I can tell from reading the description that this music was or still is very close to you. I hope you have either moved past missing the woman or have found a way to constructively deal with such a tragic loss.

"A great piece of work. You have modeled your journey very well - with lovely music - and it is a pity I cannot fully retrace it as I have never been to the place. Some parts feel as if your view impressions mix up with emotions and, perhaps, hopes…"

Tyler Hughes replied to Matthew Brown's discussion Three Bagatelles for Wind Quintet (movement three)
"Again another great piece, however I felt as if their should have been another movement after this one. The third movement was so heavy I think it needs another one to lighten it up. This did have all the characteristics of a third movement of a…"

Tyler Hughes replied to Matthew Brown's discussion Three Bagatelles for Wind Quintet (movement one)
"I like this piece. A nice contrast and starter to the other movements. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that the French horn was in bass clef the entire time even when there were large numbers of ledger lines, that and something in the…"

  • Hello Matt, I listened to your "O magnum mysterium" it sounds very well, but I here in each bar the great examples of Messiaen and a little bit Poulenc, I´m now listenig in your "Sublunary" it´s more an individual style, I like it much more. Later I will listen to the other pieces.
  • Hey Matt, great work! I'm pretty sure you're not using samples to produce the music you have on your page, but if you are, please share them xD. Anyway, I really enjoyed O Ecclesia and Sweet was the Song. All the others are great too!

    Keep up the good work,
    -Steve
