"Thanks for listening and for your input, Douglas! I usually write a poem and try to set it to music. My performance skills are, I know, limited and would much rather just write. Thanks again for being honest and open."

" This isn't bad at all.  People don't really do music like this anymore, it seems.  Though it's not really in that style, the chords and lyrics remind me a little of something Pink Floyd might do with more electric guitar and sweeping…"

Gavin Brown replied to Marvin Cripps's discussion Videos
"Hi Marvin,
A decent pop/rock tune. Maybe a Neil Young influence? I think it could have benefited from your voice being a little higher in the mix, but it is also ok as is, other than the end, which seems cut off. Thanks for posting!

  • Hey Marv! I agree with Darel. You're making the hardware and software work for your expression. Please keep the music flowing. It's something that I need to do myself, as I've been away from the forum for a long time as well.
  • Your tools are starting to work for you. I'm glad you're in a music mode. It can only be good for all.
  • I've been away from the forum for some time now. I sliced my left hand open, which required 18 stitches, but left no permanent damage. I've been learning how to do things in real time using soft synths in Sonar Home Studio 7XL and Dimension Pro and a dedicated midi keyboard. I've worked out my latency issues by using ASIO drivers and will post some new stuff soon.
  • thnx so much! very much!
  • Hi Marv, thanks for taking to time to listen and leaving a comment. Appreciated. I'm currently out and about mobile so cannot access the Flash music player to listen to your songs. Will do so at the earliest opportunity though. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the comment on my page. I've listened to a few of your tracks now and they come across as being very sincere, which isn't always easy to achieve.
  • Hi Marv,
Thank you for that wonderful compliment. I really enjoyed your music. Especially Northern Lights. It has somewhat of a Native American undertone. Your songs remind me of the 70's group Little River Band. That was a great decade for music. Keep up the great work.
  • No, thank you Marv for listening :)
  • Hey Marv,

Thanks for stopping by to listen to my work. =)

Sounds like you're working with a Sound Blaster Live or Audigy? Simple yet still nice sounding synthesizer whatever it is. Your compositions are actually quite enjoyable to listen to. Welcome aboard!
