Socrates Arvanitakis replied to Tyler Hughes's discussion negative portrayals or coding of Classical music in media
"Well, Tyler the one single example of abusing classical music that I can remember with real disgust and anger most is the music of the rondo from Abdelazer by H. Purcell (not Britten's version of the current composition contest by Mike). This music…"

  • Hi tyler,

Thanks for your welcome message and also your doubts regarding my status as a composer or not. I am not trying to waste anybody's time and certainly not using this forum cheaply. Perhaps I was not clear on my intention:

My main purpose is to share and hear others music. The difficulty of considering myself or not a true "composer" is more of a philosophical kind, I think it will keep me always wondering and uneasy. This question has not stopped me from composing, and the result I have just uploaded to my profile.

If however, to be part of this forum, I need to have already renown music either sold or used in a famous project, I am afraid I have none. I am optimistically hoping to though, and that is why I registered here to begin with =)

    Cheers from Ireland!
