Timothy Smith replied to Timothy Smith's discussion BBC Symphony Orchestra CORE update
"UPDATE- I received the update on the 18th for BBCSO CORE and have been very happy with it. As it tuned out those tinny sounds carried across all my libraries and was a sound adjustment.
For anyone considering the Spitfire series ( Discovery, CORE,…"

"Dane,
Not certain how moving a library to a new computer would work. I have moved libraries across SSD drives.
I was able to download the update for CORE. Prior to the update I moved my library across drives. The plugin did not like it. I need to…"

Dane Aubrun replied to Timothy Smith's discussion BBC Symphony Orchestra CORE update
"Thanks indeed for this extra commentary - that the samples are available dry. Like you, in a previous player I've used I've used a reverb bus. Reaper gives a fair bit of control. If the recordists are up to it I'd expect the quality to be excellent.…"

Hi Dane,
I agree some of the articulations are a bit vague and I'm not sure how much I will use some of them. Time will tell.
I will need to add the other articulations to the articulations template I…"

"Hi, Harmonius,
Many thanks for the manual and info on keyswitches. No probbies at all about butting in!!

"Good Morning, Timothy,
Well, I'd be pretty happy about spitfire were I not already well set up with VSL. It's always appealed as an alternative orchestra (I mean, like the Vienna Symphony, the BBCSO is one of the world's top orchestras - it can…"

Timothy Smith replied to Timothy Smith's discussion BBC Symphony Orchestra CORE update
"Hi Dane,
I picked up CORE on a pretty good deal. Initially I was skeptical. There are many expanded articulations in CORE version .vs Discovery version. There are probably free articulation templates for Reaper from Spitfire. I made some up for…"

"The Shimmer effect sounded like a cathedral on steroids but I enjoyed the mood it set. At night with lots of candles. An interesting and enjoyable arrangement of musical ideas based on that hymn.

Timothy Smith replied to Saul Gefen's discussion Light from the Darkness
"Hi Saul,
I like the extended strings parts with sometimes varying shades. As a string composition this maintains a nice even rhythmic continuity throughout. I could hear loud and louder dynamics.
I could hear horns parts in it to move it out of…"

  • Welcome Timothy!
