I am for the most part a recluse...
I have a friend I talk to, his name is WIll, we've been friends since 10th grade, and he by all means is the only person in this world who could understand exactly who I am. The plethora of hikes and kick'n it in high school by far breached the dilemma of staying 'sane' in a increasingly more and more confused world, sort of made us both wako for a while then in the "cooling off faze" made perspective and understanding a lasting and prevalent force in both our worlds. The reason I mention this is as I play piano, he has his art work (a really killer artist), our world and the idea's and outlooks on life built through the experience of surviving high school and going insane, a common understanding between ourselves emerged, ultimately giving life to what is now my music, to him his art... the duality and ringing between two large structures of instinctive and prevaling mind sets and idea's, Two halves to a hole in a psuedo (more spiritual) philosophy.... for use of better words (all of them!). The idea's I have formed in music, in sort and encouraged by our friendship and miles and miles of hiking and exploring, have formed seemingly through and with my connection to this BFF (best friend for life), I owe, in part credit to whatever may be due to this friend, for without the other half there would be no whole.
Anyways, despite my single trusted friend, I have my parents whom I live with, they too an inspiration, and given the complex nature of trying to understand and relate to their ever growing-more-distant world, there seems to be a constant force of musical thought in relation to what I cannot clearly understand of them. I love them both to tears, and I suppose Love in respect to art, is necssary for it's creation.
I moved away from my hometown about a year ago, up here now where there are tree's and lots of them, huge huge tree's, I'll post pictures somewhere when I get around to it. Nature is becoming more and more of an influence with each passing day, realizing the possibility in getting lost in exploration and love towards the forest, appriciating the powerful sent's of evergreen and rich soil... still reflecting purty and seemingly unaffected by all the polution. I am very lucky to be living as I am, probably another ode to my music if there were one.
I'm a very spiritual person, and I don't give much thought to order or structure... (at least not tedious hours spent at the piano, rushing up and down each scale, hammering away at thousands of different chords in syncopated order... all at the tapping of a metronome). I am actually rather lazy (if you could call it that) in building my technique, I haven't practiced scales in months... I probably will again by for now I am taking it easy. I am not overly concerned with technique and precision because I believe in relation to what I am creating, the pureness of it's form is reflected in my ability to understand and think about what I am doing. By practicing technique I am draining the essence of what is required to construct these idea's, taking away from what to me is truly important. In a few years time (I haven't been at this all that long) my music will ascend the ranks of what is commonly understood of music. In ten years time, I will consider writing.
my focus is improvisation for now. Since I started late (at 15), I am making up for what I missed out on if I had started when I was four... hard to explain and I will leave that thought to however the reader may choose to see it.
I am becoming more and more focused and drawn to the idea's of others, which is why I am here actually. I want to learn, and I am open to any form of discussion.
