"Hi!!

I don't know what is the problem with writing in certain forms. If you like to do that, do it!! If not, don't. Anyway I hear a lot of different music, in different styles. Some very modern, some very old. Is that a problem? To me it seems…"

"Excellent post, Chris.
I was going to mention that there might be some exceptions to your 'need a DAW and MIDI controller- I was thinking of Trance and Electronica, etc. But, when I think of examples of good music in those genres, it still sounds…"

"Hi, (I'm repeating this - possibly - I'm not sure the 1st attempt got through).
Here are three suggestions to keep you composing. Make of them what you will:
Composersite.com (contests)
IndabaMusic.com (contest opportunities - re-mix contests)…"

You're right, there are a lot of friendly people here. Oh and my name is Thorton not Thornton haha, but people just call me Thor.

I listened to your compositions. Although it was in MIDI sound, I liked the melody and imagined it being played live by real instruments. What program did you use?

Oh and by the way, I just uploaded my first track, the composition I mentioned a few hours ago :)
