I'd be interested. I currently use Sibelius for writing and playback and would be interested in any tips and tricks you might have to make playback sound better. I use East-West with Sibelius but am considering others like VSL and Berlin…"

"Hi TT:
I really enjoyed listening to this piece. I agree with Gav about the sitar feel. Meditative almost. Interesting mix of instruments and style. A harmonica would have really sent it over the edge for envisioning the cattle. Thanks for writing…"

Thanks for your incredible compliment! I love what you've done with "Apples and Oranges" using mandolin. The mandolin is a beautiful instrument. Why did you stop playing them? I'm glad that my music inspired you to start playing it again. It's…"

Initial comment: you need to activate the right hand more - it could be carrying on much more melodic content.

Robert Hunter replied to Nathan Wakefield's discussion Mood Build
"It seems the opportune moment to develop would be around 2:10, where you change the ongoing motif of E-C-B to E-C-B-G# - there's lots of possibilities there - key change, development of the motif into a longer melodic strain, etc."

"Hi Nathan,
I liked this piece, enjoyed how it slowly builds over time. Rather than have this simply peter out at the end, I can see developing this into a longer, more complex work.

I really enjoyed listening to your "Two Part Motet" in Phrygian. I've never explored Phrygian, only Spanish Phrygian, so listening to your piece has inspired me to begin a composition in that mode. Thanks for the music, and the…"

  • Robert,

I'm having trouble getting your songs to play.  It's probably this very old MAC.  When I find the trouble, I'd like to hear your work.

  • Robert,

Thank you for listening to my work.  I'm still trying to figure out this site, and I have more to post - it's nice to have musical buddies who listen.  I loved your work.  The C-Lydian was beautiful and peaceful, esp. that sound of C-D-E-F# in strings, and also how you sometimes went into A Dorian.  I used to live in Mill Valley, and loved to drive up around Salinas to paint landscapes.
