Spanish-born Patricia Giannattasio is a New York-based composer and pianist who performs in solo and collaborative projects. Recent commissions include new works for The Da Capo Chamber Players, JACK Quartet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, et al. Her current projects include a work for Pierrot ensemble to be premiered in the Spring of 2021 by The Da Capo Chamber Players in New York City.
Recent activities include New York Variations for string quartet premiered by The JACK Quartet, Immigrants’ Songs for piano/voice premiered by Ms. Giannattasio, the premier of her ballet Mass, by Dance Theatre of Harlem. She was awarded The Gabriel Fontrier Scholarship after a performance of her Trio para Violin, Cello, y Piano.
In addition, Ms. Giannattasio is the recipient of The Theodore Presser Foundation Fellowship and the Karl Rathaus Scholarship.
At present, she is completing her doctoral dissertation at the Graduate Center in New York City, where she studied with Jeff Nichols, Tania León, Bruce Saylor, Joe Straus, and Jason Eckardt.
