  • Yeah, I saw that yer a wife and a mother of two! =) It’s amazing that music bursts forth from every type of life situation. I myself am married and have a daughter that’s already graduated from college. =)

Yeah, I can tell that melody is primary with you---yer like a perpetual melody machine! Holy crap! Yer a very powerful player too. Amazing. The drama in your music is killer!

Thanks for the complements on my sounds! They’re all electronic---and I actually have a modest setup.

    Main software synthesizers:

    Miroslav Philharmonic

    Sample Tank 2.5

    Dimension Pro

I’m working on getting some top-line stuff---but---oh well. It certainly won’t stop me from doing the best I can! Always!

I don’t think any of these synths can match yer “magic piano,” though. Heh, heh.

    Sequencer:

    Sonar Producer

Right now I have an internal sound card that works well. However, I just bought an outboard job that I’m going to hook up---this seems more convenient to me---I’ll let ya how that works out in a month or so.

Yer recordings are great! What microphone do you use and what do ya plug it into? I’m about to enter some bizarre, Zappa like vocals and text on some new stuff I’m working on. =) They’ll require a parental warning sticker---it’s just who I am---what can I say.

I really like yer shanty type stuff---well all of it---REALLY!

I hope you do that early and British folk electronic music---I’m sure it’ll be brilliant!

    Talk soon!
  • Fantastic writing and musicianship!

You oughta get together with a playwright and do a musical! Dang! Shoot, you should be doing some Disney too! Wow!

    Outstanding!
  • I like the piece. Of course for a pianist it may never sound as real as the authentic piano, so do not take such a suggestions too serious.
I haven't heard V-piano yet. I am sure it will sound much better than the piano in fantom as it is piano first of all. It's up to you, if you play piano a lot, maybe it is worth :)
Honestly, I've got roland fantom X6, and I think its one of the best sounding keyboards i've heard, and i've heard a lot :) i love its sound, I am not a pianist and never had musical education before, but i like to play piano on my roland. It sounds great especially when used with pedal and keyboard dynamic is set properly. It depends how hard you play.

I also use it as midi keyboard with my computer.

If you buy a mid range computer with at least 2GB ram, 300GB HDD, and dual core processor, would be ok for your studio.
    Regards
  • Hi.
Don't hesitate to ask me anything, i like to share my knowledge.
If you only intend to put notes then you need a midi keyboard. Basic two octave keyboard you can buy for $100. But if you are piano player and want to play expresive, then consider purchase bigger semi-weighed keyboard with dynamic and aftertouch.
There is also "latency" issue. When you press the key on your keyboard there is a short delay before you hear a sound. In cheap sound cards latency may even reach 1 second, which is very annoying when you try to play live.

To avoid it, you should purchase good sound card. Good sound cards starts from around $100 - $200. And if you don't need multiple inputs for audio recording, then I recommend EMU 0404 external USB. or internal PCI version for a good start.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have clearance to use the Dali Lama's voice. Any performance of Compassion is dedicated to the Dali Lama, and a donation is made to the Dharma Network. The composition isn't going to be played more than once a year and this is the only site were you can hear it. His words are all in context and without any of there meaning altered. It is by no means a commercial venture this piece.

    Kind regards

    Matt
