About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
Born in Liverpool in 1971. I was interested in music from a very early age. I never really got the chance to try any instruments out until later on in life.
I had always been facinated by the piano and was mesmerised by those who knew how to play it.
I got my my first keyboard at the age of 15 but couldn't play it properly. I was a big fan of Mike Oldfield and Jean Michele Jarre at the time so i would try to imitate them on the keyboard with no luck.
In 2004 i got my first electric guitar. I couldn't play this properly either but i found i had a knack of being able to make up songs and melodies.
However, the songs i played on the guitar didn't sound how i imagined them in my head, i needed another way of getting my ideas out of my head and on to tape.
I then bought a yamaha keyboard which had decent sounding instruments. This is what I needed and allowed me to record and compose on the fly.
I then bought Cakewalk Sonar and now use this to compose my tracks.
My tracks are still in their infancy and will change from time to time until i am satisfied they are good enough (might take a long time).
When/if this happens there will be a "final" suffix at the end of each track.
The reason i post them now is for feedback and advice.
I have had some wonderful advice from a lot of wonderful people on here and on other sites i post to. This is something i appreciate a great deal.
Please note; I've never had any musical training, and everything i compose, i do so at home. So my songs may sound a little bland, and a little odd. But i enjoy the process of it all, so i guess that's all that matters.
My influences are: Clint mansell, Mike Oldfield, Mark Knopfler, Vangelis, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Dire Straits, Kitaro, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Shigeru Umebayash.,
Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully listen to a song or two.
Your coments, and advice are always welcome.
Best Wishes
Mark Stothard.

Just gave a listen to Medieval Roar...really enjoyed your work on it. Has a nice epic feel in certain sections. The Other Side wouldn't play for me but I'll check back. Good writing. Cheers, Ryan
