  • Yes Marie-Anne, your music certainly conjures up images. I listened to your play-list and it was like going on an adventure!

Those pieces are very different of course, but for me, they flow almost as though they are parts of a Partita and your varied experiences in the medium shine through.

A visual aspect is always a key factor in my appreciation of music, principally because I started my creative life as a visual artist and although I cannot do that anymore I still think in those terms.

I regard my own music mostly as therapeutic and interestingly other people have told me that they find it therapeutic and relaxing too, which is good because that is exactly what I intended. I think Doug Lauber has encapsulated it with his description of “endearing, sort of like a lazy summer afternoon with a sun shower.” Thanks Doug.

Another person’s work which I admire very much is that of the extremely talented and hard working Heather Fenoughty. I can only stand back in stunned admiration at the quality of the music of people on this site; I find it very inspiring.

One problem I have is in getting the right gear, hardware and software to enable me to achieve the sound I want. My stuff on here uses pretty unsophisticated, basic stuff for the raw sounds I have managed. I’m trying to get the right recording gear together for live recordings. I want to do more ambient stuff with a combination of my violin, organ and woodwind instruments. My older brother has offered to help with Production as he is already in the business. How far it will go I don’t know, but it’s fun trying.
  • Wonderful music. I've just listened to your current playlist. I Love it...
  • Thanks for your comments Marie-Anne. I'm listening to you Reflections Piece. Lovely guitar playing...
  • Thanks so much Marie-Anne
    I'm glad you're feeling it!
If you ever need a guitar player to hook up with, please don't hesitate to ask ;)
    Cheers and take it easy.

    Sean.
  • Enjoyed listening to your lovely music! Keep it uP!
  • Simply lovely!!
Very much my kind of laid back stuff this ;)

    Nuff said!!
    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers
    Sean.
  • August Champlin said…"Heroes" is rhythmically catchy. I like the slight hesitation in the rhythm, which creates an effective hook. "Feliz" makes Renaissance-New Age music sound kind of funky-cool. I like the vocal samples at the beginning and was wishing they would return for a duet with the guitar (lute?)! A black man scatting over a Renaissance lute--now that would be the ultimate in funk! But the piece is cool without taking such a Bobby McFerrinesque trajectory. "One Fine Day" is mellow and rhythmically vivacious. Interesting work! I enjoyed it!
