I started out writing electronic songs, in the eighties, and have later moved into orchestral stuff. Today I work with Sibelius and Logic Pro X. I also use a variety of iPad apps. Melody is central in my compositions. For me breaking with the old school is not about writing avant-garde stuff, but about using a modern tone language with old school techniques. And with modern tone language I mean mixing in rock, pop and folk music influences.

Hi Lennart thanx for your comment, I'm Listening to The Deep right now it the chord progression is simply beautiful it reminds me very much of some songs of Vangalis
Hi Lennart,
thank you for listening to my music and for your kind words. I'm glad you like what I do. I've been told I remind people of David Sylvian before but I've never heard him. I should check him out. I'm really enjoying your music at the moment. Really unique and captivating. Keep up the great work! :)
Take care,
Rowan

Hey Lennart,
I appreciate your comments. Walking Nights and Christ He Loves You are some of my favorite of yours. I think you would find much inspiration from Michael Talbot. Celestial Ballet was written to describe the majestic nature of the world we live on and the insignificance of us compared to the One who created. Many blessings and continued growth in your writing.

Hi Lennart,
Thank you for the nice comment! Regarding how I learned arranging, I wish I had a good answer. I don't even know if I "know" arranging, but I'm glad somebody out there thinks so. :) But honestly, I really don't know how to answer that question. I did study a bit of theory, but for the most part I guess I compose by "feel", for better or for worse. Like everyone here, I'm sure, I've listened to a lot of music, so that has certainly helped internalize a lot of common musical concepts. I do wish I could study more about music theory, arranging, and orchestration, but there never seems to be enough time. But I try to learn where I can.
I've listened to your music and it sounds quite good. So for what it's worth, I think your hard work is paying off.
Welcome to the forum!
