"I totally have to agree, people who are quick to judge and say they hate something, its usually because they don't understand. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's bad! Well said Marv."

basically it means roll off the low frequencies with an EQ that we dont hear anyway and it will lighten up the mix- "relieve pressure"
as for hearing basses good here and bad there, all I can tell you that low…"

  • You have some great music here. Well done.
  • Hi Josellyn,

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like my music. I like the depth in your music. Alot of dark emotion.

    Keep it up!
  • Hello Joselynn, I am sorry, I never saw that movie. My John Williams favorites (if there are any, because almost everything is so great) are the main theme from 'E.T.' and Yoda's theme from 'Starwars'.
Couple of years ago I bought a score of 'Starwars'. Whenever I run out of ideas I take that book. reproduce a few bars of it and inspiration is back. And I feel sorry for the poor people who have to play this music in a live situation.

    See you later
    Jochen
  • Hi Josellyn, just listening to your music and I try to remember what I wrote when I was your age (which is hard to do, because it's soooo long ago). Conclusion is: You are better.

    Best regards from Germany

  • Hi Josellyn!

Howdy Neighbor! So tell me, what types of music are you writing these days? I keep getting comments about uploading music here at this site to share, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I DO have a few sound bytes (bites?) at my website at www.buddyclements.com I am sooo impressed that you also play the tuba! That rocks! I was a tuba performance major for both my bachelors and Masters degrees. Then after several years of teaching I decided to study film scoring over at nights at UCLA. I had actually ALWAYS wanted to be a composer so I went back to school to study more intensely and ended up completing a doctorate in composition at nearby Claremont Graduate University. Are you attending Citrus College? I hear they have an incredible recording/sound engineering program there! If so, can I ask you about a recording project I would like to do? You might know the guys to talk to... Have a great Sunday!
  • Hi Josellyn!

I'm just getting started, too! I've not created any music for film. BUT, each audio file uploaded to my website could be considered as "bait" for landing such a "whale" of a project! Keep at it, Josellyn. I'm four years from 60 and loving each and every minute of each and every day spent composing something new and exciting!
