What have you composed for? Or what medium do you work around?
Choir, Orchestra, Small Ensemble, Big Ensemble, Songs, Other
What is your favorite genre or style of music?
I'm very open-minded. I love so many different styles of music that it's hard to choose and it depends on the day. However, I listen mostly to classical music of different eras (but mostly Romantic), world music, progressive/art rock and jazz.
Is music your main income source?

Where do you live?
About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
I began composing the moment I started to learn the guitar around age 13 (though I had piano lessons from the ages of 5 and 10). Of course, back then my music and what I listened to was rather simplistic. Over the years, I've become increasingly interested in many genres (and less interested in simple music/more of a music snob) and since then, I've been composing in many different styles including pop/rock, jazz, video game music, classical, world music, funk, progressive rock/pop, fusion, and so on. I love most styles of music and try to take influence from all of them, even when composing in one genre. I believe it is very important to stay open-minded and listen to various styles of music (in fact, appreciate various forms of art), even if one isn't a musician. Heck, if you don't, in my opinion, it's your loss. I have many life projects just within music alone, but I'd love to compose for a big video game company like Nintendo or Square Enix, perhaps score a major film, and have a career as a composer/interpreter when it comes to my pop/rock/jazz music. I am currently the guitarist and occasional co-composer for pop/folk/Francophonie group Émilie et les Why-Five?, and classical guitarist and composer/arranger for contemporary classical/Japanese music trio Sanka. Both bands are based near Quebec City (both are groups I started with college colleagues). Both these bands have Facebook pages and are serious projects. The biggest reason I've come to this website is because classical (especially symphonic) music still often mystifies me. I am learning arrangement, theory, and all that stuff in college and am in my final year (and I intend to go into composition in university). Despite this, I'm not as confident arranging for classical ensembles as I am for pop ones and feel like I have a lot to learn regarding scoring for orchestra, which I have begun doing this year. I also have many other difficulties regarding composition and occasionally need guidance or feedback.
