Garry Purse replied to Bernardo Sodré's discussion Orchestra Sketch
"Not too abrupt - I think it's in keeping with the ever changing textures and orchestration which, incidentally, is impressive.  It does have a transitory feel which suggests that it may be for film.  Is that its intention?"

Garry Purse left a comment for Samir Graba
"Just joined composers' forum and loved your piece. Really delicate handling of the lower strings.  It rightly doesn't try hyperbole - a relief in a world where everything has to be bigger and 'better'.  Just beautiful."

Garry Purse left a comment for Thorbjörn Sjögren
"The discords work really well on the church organ sound in both a beautifully haunting way and also shocking with the big dynamics.  I liked this - some great chords that I wanted to last for longer."

  • thank you for listening and comment. I improvised this piece at seven concerts in Berlin, using an old theme for Choir that I wrote a long time ago. It would have been smarter to just forget about the old it is history :-))
  • Thanks alot.  I'm definitely a great believer in less is more.
