"Thanks Yaiza,

Elves was composed in "american style", there is much fantasy background.
I will buy your album on Amiestreet. It would be a practice among composers. Don't you?"

Francesco Lettera commented on Adrian Allan's video
"Compliments for the 17.00 minutes of music. Now, I've just listened 6 minutes. You have nice musical ideas, but perhaps there is a casual use of strings. In some parts there are excessive jumps.
But I must listen to it again."

"Hi Yaiza,

first of all. Thanks for your christmas greetings...
Well, I'm happy you don't resented about my words. Something, in place like this nobody venture a comment different from compliments.
I don't have recommendations or advice for your new…"

"Yes, the entire album is original and not banal.
And whereas you are gentle about my music, I will honest with you :-)
There is a good orchestration, but I can't hear strong themes. I suppose that is not a concept album: this the reason that compel…"

Francesco Lettera left a comment for Yaiza Varona
"I composed "The Wizard" in nine months and my concern was the coherent line into each piece.
Six pieces describes six different situations, but I think there is not much coherence if you try to find a common line in the whole project.
Perhaps, there…"

Francesco Lettera replied to Jacob Royal's discussion Tempo and Key
"Jacob, perhaps, I know what you say with the capacity to expand on your themes. It's true and I think that is the first question that a composer must face.
But it doesn't depend by the key. There are excellent examples of themes with a sequence of…"

"Thanks Yaiza. I've tried to compose descriptive music for "the Wizard of Oz" (morover, reading the fairtale...).
Olimpo is an unripe composition for me, but - yes - there is the tension.

About Inspiration, you're right, probably. But I've read in a…"

  • Lo conoscevo pochissimo. Davvero interessante, devo recuperare qualche partitura.
  • Respighi... gran compositore ed orchestratore ! (da buon allievo di Korsakov..). Feste Romane è un capolavoro d' orchestrazione !
  • Hi Francesco,
I have been listening to your work at Beatpick as you suggested, also I visited your webpage. I never have the time I wish to listen to everything, but so far I could listen to Elves and Izmir from your media web, and Ostinato Kebab in Beatpick. Hope to find time to listen to them again and more tracks, but so far I can tell I enjoyed them, especially Ostinato Kebab, for it has such an original combination of timbres and styles. Very original, also like the open ending of it.
Thanks for the reccomendation, I will be back to it
  • Hi Francesco, thanks a lot for taking the time to listen to my work and write a review, it is really very kind of you. You are right, the tracks in this album have no connection at all one to the other, they only thing in common they have is me trying out new equipment and devices ;) . Also because of my limitations exploring sound in this new situation I chose to use little motifs to create defined ambiances rather than long-structured themes (easier for me to make them sound better timbrically, one of my concerns), you are totally right there. The only track where I extended a bit more would be "The Eyes", but still there I guess I can't find a great theme either, my bad.
I really much appreciated your opinion, please feel free to say anything you think, I truly seek no compliments but to improve and do better music each time. In January I will start a new project, so please if you have any recommendations or advise, I will be glad to hear.
Once again Francesco, thanks so much for your time, attention and kind words! much appreciate :)
  • ciao fra, lieto di vederti su questi lidi... :-) Se non dovessimo risentirci per tempo, buon Natale !!!
  • Hello Francesco
I am listening to it, I especially enjoy Going to the City of Emeralds and Home again only three steps...I think they hold this coherent line I mentioned earlier in your work about powerful pictoric ability. Tell us more of this work!
    Greetings
  • Well more than descriptive...it seems that the piece is almost talking by itself! :)
Neatly and accurate, seems that there is really a storytelling behind it. Very interesting work (here I am listening again to it) :)
  • Hello Francesco,

I find Cyclone gorgeous. Creates beautiful atmospheres and almost pushes mind to draw images on it. Really pictoric approach. I like in Olimpo the use of harmony so the tension arises and keeps the attention of the listener.
    Wonderful work indeed!
ps: wasn't Bach the one that said that inspiration always found him while he was working? :)
  • Thanks Deborah. I'm happy you like it. If you visit my website you can hear other pieces of Wizard of Oz.
    Thanks again!
  • Listened to Olimpo. I'm listening to The Cyclone now. Wow! I love your use of strings. It's a bit startling at time, which makes one sit up and pay attention. This music makes me feel as though I've stepped into a fairytale. Thanks for sharing.
