"Now I haven't read through all the replies so maybe someone has said this before but I think drugs may aid in an awakening process for the person in a whole, and give a lot of inspiration. However I think that one should strive to have that…"

"Practise your relative pitch, which is to be able to distinguish all the intervals. That has helped me a lot. A tip is to learn to sing them, one by one. It might seem impossible at first with some intervals, like the minor seventh or tritone, but…"

  • It took me a while. Here is the link http://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=...

I was using Open MPT because it was quite advanced and I wanted to reuse some of my old Amiga mod files. After a few months I wasn't fully satisfied from the performance and functionality of Open MPT and I decided to by Renoise which I've been using since then. In some aspects Open MPT was easier to use but in others Renoise is superior. It took me some time to convert files produced in Open MPT to Renoise format - especially all VST effects.

  • Hi Calle,

Actually this is what brought me to the Composers' Forum! I found your post about finishing Dark City on another forum, probably related to Open MPT (which I was using at that time), and there was a link to your profile. And then I registered here...

Coming back to your question: yes, I like Dark Forum.

    Regards, Piotr

  • Hey what kinds of Vst's could you see being designed for the Open MPT enviroment? Any ideas?

  • Thank you for your comment :) At the moment I'm just putting up a lot of work-in-progresses, but I hope to finish some tunes soon!

  • Oh and nice tracks by the way.

  • I haven't looked for my Modules in ages. I made alot of S3m's back in the day. I will have to go out to the garage this week and fire up the old Amiga 500 to see if they are archived out there. I use mostly Reaper and Ableton these days but Open MPT has some tricks that I should start using again. I'm so busy programing VST's I haven't had enough time for music lately, but I have always intended to get back to the Mod files one day.

  • Sorry, fougue espagnole is for a show that hasn't been released yet...
So I don't want to release copies yet.
  • Yep ! let me know when the guitar mic and vocals have been used,
I'll be happy to listen to the change.
  • Thanks :D I have contacts... and am slowly learning PHP myself...
  • HI! For what I've heard, it sounds like your music pieces should be songs.
Really like the Melancholy passage between 3'05 - 3'25 !
The melodies are usually fun, and if someone was singing them, I think it could be cool!
So, like Rachel said: do you have lyrics ?
    good work
