Axel Olesund replied to Axel Olesund's discussion 'Danny Boy' for SATB a cappella
"I've made some editing notation wise. Does it look better, Tyler?

And more criticism are greatly appreciated! :-)

Axel Olesund replied to Axel Olesund's discussion 'Danny Boy' for SATB a cappella
"Quinn: Thank you!

Tyler: The reason I have a cross voicing in bar 17-18 is that Bass 1 is singing the melody. And since I want the "accompany" bass to sing the line it does, I found no other way than to cross voice. Though, in bar 39 I have no…"

Tyler Hughes replied to Axel Olesund's discussion 'Danny Boy' for SATB a cappella
"Very good arrangement, you really made it your own. Musically, its very solid. Notation wise, there are a few mistakes.
Measure 17-18, cross voicing in the basses doesnt seem very necessary. That just makes it hard for no good reason. And it…"

"I guess that is one of the reasons I'm taking piano lessons this term. But chiefly because I want to play it, it is so useful in all situations, whether you are composing or performing."

Axel Olesund replied to vincenti zghra's discussion Fear of posting for musical feedback.
"Spyrus/Thomas: Thank you for advice. I believe I do realize what I'm doing when I'm arranging, even without actually listening to the notes all the time, so it's not a very big problem. I will try to post one of my pieces later this week, presenting…"

Axel Olesund replied to vincenti zghra's discussion Fear of posting for musical feedback.
"I'm, kind of, in the same situation as Vincenti.
Though I'm not afraid to post it because I don't believe it's good enough (after all, I joined the forum because I want to learn from others!), my issue that I have no good way of presenting it. For…"

"I'll second that! Didn't even now that there were possibilities to get the realistic sounds that most of the pieces I've listened to here have. Now, I only have to figure out how to get it. I'm working on it!"

Toomas: Yes, I am from Sweden, glad you noticed! :-) I took a look at your page and the tracks you mentioned do sound good, even with the Sibelius sounds only. But that's symphonic sounds which I believe are…"

Greg Moore replied to Axel Olesund's discussion Applying sounds in Sibelius?
"Hey Axel, this is my first post as well :-D
Sadly, there's not much you can do to 'fix' Sibelius' built in choral sound.  Your best bet is to use a VST plugin to handle your choral playback like Toomas said.

Some options...

For 345 euros you can…"

GaribaldiMusic replied to Axel Olesund's discussion Applying sounds in Sibelius?
"Hi Axel! ( Are you from Sweden?)
You need to get some libraries to use as plugins with Sibelius
It can sound quite nice. I usually work in Sibelius and then export the midi to my DAW for further tweaking
To get an idea what is achievable with…"
