    Sorry I didn't reply sooner.  I appreciate your comments, and I think I agree with your statements to some extent.  Are you saying that if I learn English, I should not try to speak to people using the vocabulary and syntax of Shakespeare, or Goethe if I learn German?  This makes sense.  I will take your advice to heart.
