Andrew Brick replied to Zine Kodin's discussion Epic anthem for a video game [feedback needed]
"Glad to see another self-taught person here. :)  I think the composition is nice, though it does seem to end on a bit of a down note relative to the rest of the piece.  With regard to execution/mixing, I think I heard a bit of clipping just about…"

Andrew Brick replied to Andrew Brick's discussion End Credits pieces
"Chris, if only I was making music for real projects....  No, this was just a piece of music that went unnamed until the final stages when I thought it had the feel of an end credits piece."

Andrew Brick replied to Andrew Brick's discussion End Credits pieces
"Hm...I guess I just viewed this site as sort of all-inclusive, and that its members understood that people post music they've created to their pages.  Seems a little redundant in an exclusive forum like this to post music in two places, especially…"

Andrew Brick replied to Andrew Brick's discussion End Credits pieces
"Thanks for listening.  In the grand scheme of things, the changes I made were minor.  A little work on the piano's ostinato, more limited use of violins...the biggest changes were in that middle section.  I reduced the complexity of the…"

Anthony Berlin replied to Andrew Brick's discussion End Credits pieces
"Exactly what is the difference between the two? I guess you have to listen to them a few times before you hear it (because you need to learn exactly how both of them sound). But I never felt lost in the middle section, so I never had anything to…"

Andrew Brick replied to Russell Bell's discussion My first product demo!
"First off, it has a great feel to it.  Seems to catch the essence of the promotion text below it.  Some comments:
1. Back off the percussion, unless that's also part of the sample pack.  The strings should stand out the whole way through.
2. From…"

  • Greetings Andrew,

Your music is top notch. Keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey,

I really liked Escape from Inferno. There is one thing that I thought was particularly good. I like how you came in with that violin line in the cello towards the end. I was wanting that for the entire time I was listening to it, and I finally got it at the end. Great job!

  • Hey!

    Thanks.

Better yet, I've gotten new and better samples to make even cooler music.

  • Welcome to the forum. STfTV isn't all that simple, but it is short. "Gods.." is neither short nor simple and both were quite enjoyable. Just keep in mind that everyone out there has mixing issues to work through!
  • Thanks Andrew :) Funny I saw your comment on the Game Composer forum and thought I would check your page, so I was just listening to The Gods Descend/Birth of the World. Really liked the transition to the cue at :58...great dynamics and you seem to have quite a grasp on orchestration etc. I still have yet to get fully loaded on EWQL orchestra packages due to some budget contraints but looking forward to it! Nice writing man. Looking forward to hearing more. Cheers!
