Oh no! I don't know whether to ask what the chord sequence is from... Is it identical? or similar?

The majority of sounds used were from Xpand!2 which is part of the "Factory" package that comes with Protools. Yes I agree they are a bit synthy sounding, hence why I have to upgrade. They're decent enough for jotting down ideas and doing some programming with, then can add better sounds later. I used 1 outboard for a few string sounds, the good old Roland Orchestra M-OC1. Nice woodwind and not bad strings.

Got it working, I like it, epic but not bathed in too much reverb (like some pieces out there are) emotive too - in a similar way to Thomas Newman's work

HI Adam, I agree I wouldn't buy it either (but listen on spotify maybe), I'd be watching a scene and suddenly think, "that sounds familiar". The Mission is a superb soundtrack, my favourite is "Once upon a time in the West" - which isn't the most original choice on my part but true!

Thanks for your comments, I think I sometimes need a sound to spark off a new idea, so I muck around with filters and gates and other tricks, if someone took my all Rhodes sounds away though I think I'd be lost!

Can't seem to play your music on your page, look forward to hear some of your work.

I did enjoy the music but it didn't rock my world to be honest, and I have a sneaky suspicion that it's been written with a view to them doing a musical theatre adaptation of it, as to me it seems like there's an inherent framework worked into the pieces, and far too much space (Even for Mr Zimmer). I'm probably wrong but I just get that impression. As for Mr Morricone, I'm only really familiar with "The Mission" Soundtrack which I adore, but after having a listen to "My Name Is Nobody" I can see the similarities. Overall.. Sherlock Holmes Soundtrack, good, but wouldn't end up buying it.

What did you think of the Sherlock Holmes soundtrack? I thought it owed a lot to the more 'whimsical' soundtracks from Morricone (which certainly isn't a bad thing!). It reminded me in part of "My Name Is Nobody" - of course it also had the requisite bang up to date nuances but I enjoyed it.

Your player works, Adam, and I loved what I was listening to. It has an athmosphere one feels "at home" for its cinematic character. Well balanced and a nice theme. Thanks for sharing! Rudi

nice Adam, Triumph sounds vaguely familiar to something I heard recently in a film but a lot of film music sounds alike, I can't place it! very emotive, and nice levels with your crescendo's, very nice to hear your music :)

Thank you for your kind comments. It is only from the graciousness and patience of others above me(and a lot of hard work!) that I have been able to achieve to the level that I have.
