"Rick,
Very much appreciate your kind words. I'm trying to poke into film scoring but my problem is the lack of knowledge of how to get into that industry. However, I may be scoring my first feature next spring. We'll see how that goes!
Thanks again.…"

Thank you kindly for your comments! I do see what you are saying with those parts and that is definitely great advice to consider for later compositions. That section was very experimental, which I wouldn't doubt provide spots that take away…"

My only concern would be at app 0:27-0:28, and especially 0:33.50 --Ive listened repeatedly and feel something very slightly slows it down--maybe there are…"

Thank you so much for your comment!
I suppose you are right about the comparison. Recently I have done many Williams dissecting and this piece was stemmed from that, which a touch (or more) of my own. I do appreciate the other composers you…"

Rereading my post, I do see that it was a little too bleak in information. To answer your question, it depends. For slower songs, yes, I adjust expressions and cross-fades a lot. But my issue is not the crossfades and expressions, but the…"

  • Hey man, I see you are back on the forum.  I really enjoyed your latest music!  Keep it up.

  • Sounds great! I've studied reverb and compression from Youtube and several articles, but still there's so much to learn =). I guess I need that book too :D.

  • Did you? Haha! What have you learned so far from the book?

  • You're welcome! Mixing is not easy :). I think I'll buy this book about mixing from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Mixing-Secrets-Small-Studio-Senior/dp/0240815807

  • I have to write again. Track, "Farewell, Dear friend", is great!

  • Hi! I'm enjoying your new track very much! I like the structure and the change at 0:50,, makes the track interesting. Also 2:00 very nice change in chords. Only small ciriticism goes to mixing. The drums seem to need more compression, it would make them stand out more. Also some playing with reverb could help. Anyway, great stuff!
