The Last Journey (Sea Breeze)

Hey everyone - this is the first piece I'd like to share here.

This piece is part of a Coastal Themed adventure collection I'm writing that is instrumental and utilizes a lot of piano.

I'm thinking of using this as the final track as it has a "sending off" feel.

I'm curious for ANY thoughts, from the mix, composition, and performance. I value all criticism and try to check it off a never ending list.

  • Hi David--very beautiful, touching, and a really evocative, wonderful listening experience. Thanks so much for sharing! :)

(And the title and character of the music fit perfectly!)

I include the following which may or may not be helpful, and are included only for the sake of completeness.. Your piece IS really well done:)

    1) Throughout the piece sporadically, but really clearly 2:44-till about 3 minutes there are very quiet clicks which I heard that sometimes sounded on the beat and sometimes not and i wondered if they were intentional. (Im listening thru headphones)

    2) At 3:59  the instruments sudden entrance and its panning r and l was somehow out of place to me.

    3) Very nice change at 2:32  but 2:40 the harmony again felt a little out of place to me.

Again the above three items can be ignored, and its a really an EXCELLENT piece:)

    Thanks Bob https://soundcloud.com/bob-morabito

Thank you for your feedback Bob! I listenend a little more carefully and you are completely right, the percussion does get a little off the beat there in the times you mentioned. I'll correct that - Didn't catch that.

You are not the only one to comment on the instrument's (guitar) sudden appearance at 3:59. So I think that the evidence is mounting against my decision on how I brought that in. I'm going to look into ways to fade it in better or ease the listener into that entrance more.

Thanks for the suggestions, they help me catch things
