Feedback appreciated also technical feedback would be good.

I used Finale and Garratin Personal orchestra and then an old copy of windows live movie maker to do the youtube score.

I was wondering if I should save in 1080 and with a WAV also is it a good idea to use Ableton for reverb and filters as I have live 10 standard.

Classical isn't my usual genre (for composing) but I gave it a listen. It's pleasant, easy to listen to.

The opening theme became repetitive after a while, possibly more could be made of the middle section to balance it out. Another possibility is instead of a full repeat of the opening section, give the violin the tune in the repeat. Also, plain staccato markings would probably be enough given the dynamic - but that's a small point. These are just my reactions though and only you know if you're happy with the work.

The instrumentation is nicely balanced, the cello doing the lyrical work and very well too.

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to comment on your technical resources as I have none of those. Garritan, I've heard many times here and for symphonic-styled orchestration sounds good. These string sounds are fine.

Great!

Dear Andy, this is very beautiful. Maybe I would do the accompanieing staccato notes with even a little less volume.

By the way, your piece reminds me of Mozart's very first symphony, K 16, 2nd mov. Do you know this one?

Gerd

Thanks for the feedback Dane. Switching the tune to violin is a great idea for the repeat. I am orchestrating the 3rd movement now. I will post it here when done.
