Hello all - contestants were asked to submit a work of no more than about 90 seconds duration to this contest. There were no other limits. 19 members of the Composers' Forum submitted entries! Now we ask all members of the forum to vote on which ones you think are the three best. Although there are a lot of entries, it will only take you about 25 minutes to listen to them all, so please listen and vote! The last day to vote is Monday March 18 at midnight EST. After voting has completed, I will announce the winners on this thread and identify the composers. This thread will then be open for discussion if there is interest.

I have finally cast my vote. I would like to emphasize that my criteria for voting is probably not what most of the audio educated composers on this forum would have used. I considered the sound on the mp3's only, and how they impacted me. I don't have the technical background to make judgements on compositional matters. Several of these pieces were excellent, and all but one was absolutely astounding. In my short time here, I thought that some of you were a bit snooty and aloof, but now I see that you are very much deserving of your grandeur. Great job, all of you.
Thanks Ray, and I meant no disrespect to anyone. I'm a firm believer in, "patting yourself on the back" if that's what get you all giggly. You never know ............. if I ever could be as good as some of the really great, I might be tempted to blow my own horn too. As for now I just want to learn as much as possible, so I again can read sheet music properly.

I've listened through all the entries again, this time without looking at the scores, or the necessity to vote. It was purely entertaining, and cool to hear such a variety. They get better and better with familiarity. Can't wait to see who wrote what...
Janet - It's a nice variety of sounds, I agree! I challenge the membership of this site! We have 19 entrants and 25 votes. Before this contest ends, please show your colleagues you care: let's get the number of votes up to 38 (so it is twice the number of entrants). I would just about guarantee that you will like at least some of the pieces in this contest, the biggest one I have run on this site by at least a factor of 2. The more people who vote, the more composers will be energized to contribute to future competitions, including perhaps *you*. Voting ends Monday, March 18 at 5 pm EST.
