Hello all - contestants were asked to submit a work of no more than about 90 seconds duration to this contest. There were no other limits. 19 members of the Composers' Forum submitted entries! Now we ask all members of the forum to vote on which ones you think are the three best. Although there are a lot of entries, it will only take you about 25 minutes to listen to them all, so please listen and vote! The last day to vote is Monday March 18 at midnight EST. After voting has completed, I will announce the winners on this thread and identify the composers. This thread will then be open for discussion if there is interest.
Here is the link to the survey where you can vote: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YQW3G2H
GO!
Attached also is a worksheet created by Janet Spangenberg, which has the names of the compositions, the comments by each composer, and room to comment as you listen to each piece.

WINNERS ANNOUNCED:
19 composers participated in the contest. This is almost 4 times the next highest number who participated in prior contests I ran (5). 27 site members voted. This is almost twice the next highest number who voted in prior contests (14). Voters were asked to pick their number 1, 2, and 3 choices. For each #1 vote, contestants received 3 points. For each #2 vote, 2 points. For each #3 vote, 1 point. The contestants with the highest points-total were the winners. Voters also picked which were their favorites in some special "fun" categories. The highest number of votes for each composer for each individual category determined the winner. Thanks to all who participated and to all who voted! Here are the winners:

Yay!! Congrats Ray and Spiros for first place! and to Arandjelovic and Julie for also placing!
My top three were "La Premiere", "Taqsim", and "Effervescence" (I can't remember what order). I made a notation by "Seagulls Over Hangzhou Bay" wishing I could vote for that, too... There were others I was sorry I couldn't vote for, too, so I never did vote for my own entry. My Best Title went to "Ode to Leaking Faucet", and I had a notation that no explanation was necessary for the music, as it nailed it perfectly. Can't remember what entries I voted on the other special categories...
I rightly guessed the composers of a few of the pieces (Julie, Spiros, Saul...)
Thanks, Gav!
I voted for Etude, i really like your piece Saul!
